Every participant will receive the 2020 LGBT 5k Festival of Running medal
What is it? Whilst being our first virtual run, this is our 9th year of Newcastle Frontrunners LGBT 5k Festival of Running and we want to be as bright and fun as ever, but this time spread far and wide across the world. We would love you to get dressed up, take selfies, run or walk as far as you want, and tell us all about it on social media as you join with us to celebrate Northern Pride 2020. You can follow their activities at https://www.northern-pride.com/prideonline/ Will there be prizes? You bet! As we have said, this event is all about the colour and fun element, so we want to see your best fancy dress. There will be prizes for • Best team fancy dress • Best individual fancy dress • Best location in fancy dress We will also be monitoring social media to spot those pictures with the most ‘likes’ and give them a special shout out! you can also email pictures to LGBT5k@newcastlefrontrunners.co.uk Where is it? Anywhere you like When does it take place? You can complete your run/walk anytime over the weekend of Friday 17th to Sunday 19th July 2020. Where should I run? When planning your route consider your own abilities. Think about how far you want to go, the terrain you are going to be running over and how busy the route is likely to be with road crossings and other users. Can I run with other people? Anyone participating in this event must comply with the restrictions in place by your government or local governing body, where you live. What if I have an accident whilst out running? Ensure someone in your group has a phone, that someone knows where you have gone, and when you expect to return. Will this event support any charities? Yes – all profits made from this event will go to support Rainbow Home, an LGBT+ asylum seeker charity in Newcastle. You can donate during the sign up to this event.
